IT Applications Manager

Job Summary:

Manage and maintain the organization’s repository of business applications and systems through best practices and the appropriate staffing and management of a technical team. Plan and coordinate the processes required for the provision of business applications and systems necessary to support business unit operations. Apply communication and problem-solving skills to actively assist the business unit management team on issues related to the design, development, deployment and operation of mission-critical information and software systems.

Requirements:

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for the design, development, implementation, maintenance and security of all business application systems.
  • Responsible for proposal and contract preparation, cost/benefit analysis, system analysis and design programming and implementation activities for new application initiatives.
  • Develop project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans and allocation of available resources.
  • Consult with management and review proposals to determine goals, time frames, funding, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements and allotment of resources.
  • Formulate and define technical scope and objectives of business applications.
  • Establish standards and procedures for reporting and documentation as it relates to business applications.
  • Manage and negotiate non-enterprise vendor software contracts and license agreements, with director approval.
  • Keep informed on recent developments in the use of IT.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Demonstrate managerial and development experience related to ERP systems and business intelligence.
  • Strong project management, analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

  • Demonstrate high-energy level and strong work ethics.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and issues to agreed time, resources and cost deadlines.

  • Excellent customer service, team development, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills as well as formal presentation skills. 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Baan V ERP, Cognos Reporting, MS Project, MS Office and general software development knowledge

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or closely related discipline or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of three years of overall experience in managing, administering, supporting and monitoring business applications.
  • Must have a minimum of seven years of demonstrated development or application experience.
