Harsco Rail is currently seeking a Teamcenter PLM Applications Programmer/Analyst to join its winning team in Columbia, SC.
Responsible for analyzing engineering product development applications processes and program requirements with primary focus on Teamcenter Unified PLM system. Subsequently for specifying, designing, developing, supporting and maintaining any engineering systems software programs, reports and forms relative to these business applications. Provide second tier support for user problem resolution.
Work with engineering users and the department manager to:
Implement and support document management, product structure, and workflow projects using Siemens Teamcenter Unified PLM software.
Analyze, select and install new software releases, system upgrades, and patches and exercise judgment to resolve software related problems.
Analyze business processes, identify and propose new business processes or program changes to address specific requirements.
Participate in design and implementation of PLM system integration with other business applications.
Create appropriate specification documents including time and cost estimates.
Implement solutions to improve the program through collaboration with end users.
Configure, and deploy Teamcenter applications utilizing client and server side integration programming to meet the business needs.
Identify, analyze, design and develop program changes consistent with division and Corporate standards and best practices.
Maintain and monitor PLM system Data Architecture including user and data structures configurations to ensure data integrity.
Proactively manage and support all software environments such as Development, Test, Training, and Production instances for size, performance, patch versions, etc.
Provide technical support required to maintain configuration control files.
Administer user security within application package software.
Develop supporting flowcharts, tables, diagrams, formulas and methods for solving business problems, incorporating infrastructure requirements and interfaces.
Research alternative product development engineering business solutions and, where appropriate, document cost, recommend, present and justify such alternatives.
Prepare and update necessary documentation and assist in developing and maintaining system documentation.
Provide technical expertise to the users in solving day-to-day issues.
Provide training to the users, when appropriate.
Ensures all programmer/analyst related activities comply with the global Harsco compliance standards and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Demonstrate technical knowledge of engineering applications with strong emphasis on PLM Teamcenter Unified Multi-Site Application architecture and additional experience in related information systems, general database development and administration.
Demonstrate a strong appreciation of related IT hardware and infrastructure services and a personal proactive approach to maintaining skills to a current level.
Strong interpersonal skills are essential and an ability to communicate effectively with non IT personnel in problem resolution and training.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Level 1 – Associate’s Degree required in Information Systems, Computer Science or a closely related discipline or equivalent experience. Must have a minimum of two experience in a programmer/analyst role supporting Engineering related systems.
Level 2 – Bachelor’s Degree required in Information Systems, Computer Science or a closely related discipline or equivalent experience. Must have a minimum of five years experience in a programmer/analyst role supporting Engineering related systems.
Level 3 – Bachelor’s Degree required in Information Systems, Computer Science or a closely related discipline. Must have a minimum of seven years experience in a programmer/analyst role supporting Engineering related systems.
5 + years Teamcenter implementation, administration and support experience
3 + years production Client/Server environment customization programming
3 + years CAD/CAM systems implementation, administration and support experience
Familiarity with XML and Data Management concepts
Teamcenter Portal and Web customization experience
Strong analytical skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Engineering or a closely related discipline or equivalent experience.
Level 3 is expected to play a leadership/mentor role for the lower level programmer/analyst employees.
